James Butler of Duiske

James Butler of Duiske was a younger son of James Butler, 9th Earl of Ormond and Lady Joan Fitzgerald. In 1576, Queen Elizabeth I of England awarded him the lands of Duiske Abbey which had been confiscated by the Crown.[1]

Marriage and issue

He had a son, James, on whose decease without male issue, the lands of Duiske reverted to his uncle Thomas Butler, 10th Earl of Ormond.
